A conference for centres dealing with Citizenship, Democratic Participation, and Civil Society in Europe and elsewhere will take place at Roskilde University in May!
The Center for International Studies in Citizenship, Participation and Civil Society is run under WP16 of CINEFOGO and is one of the sustainable results of the project. The 12th and 13th of May 2009 the center has organised its first bigger conference at Roskilde University.
The conference will be dedicated to a series of public lectures by distinguished scholars from Latin America, Asia and Africa with comments from discussants based at civil society studies centres in Europe.
The center aims at strengthening research into the social and democratic processes that are involved in defining citizenship rights, enhancing active participation, and organising democratic interaction between civil society organisations and state at local, regional, national and global levels.
Language
Conference language is English.
Fees and costs
There is no conference fee.
Participants are expected to cover their travel costs.
Travel costs for invited speakers will be reimbursed by CINEFOGO coordinator.
